Dr Frances Mouat MBBS, FRACPPaediatric Endocrinologist and Diabetologist
F ran is originally from Scotland and graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1995. She trained in General Paediatrics in Christchurch and the UK before moving to Melbourne to complete advanced training in Paediatric Endocrinology. In 2008 Fran was appointed as a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at Starship Hospital, where she is co-lead clinician in Paediatric Diabetes.
Frans Specialists Interests
Fran has research interests including the impact of Coeliac Disease on children with Type 1 Diabetes and growth outcomes in children born following IVF treatment. Fran is the Paediatric Representative on the committee for Endocrinology training in New Zealand for the Royal College of Physicians. She is also Deputy Chair of the National Clinical Network for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes. Fran welcomes referrals for children and adolescents up to the age of 18 years requiring specialist care in any area of Endocrinology including:
- Obesity and the metabolic syndrome
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
- Thyroid, parathyroid and calcium disorders
- Pituitary and Adrenal disorders

We are conveniently located in Gillies Avenue, close to the motorway on/off ramp. The clinic is a heritage Epsom house which also houses Auckland Medical Specialists. Our helpful staff are there to take your calls and email enquiries regarding bookings.

Our consultants only accept patients who have been referred by their GP or another medical professionals. Self-referrals are not accepted, unless by prior approval by the consultant and only provided attendance at the clinic can be guaranteed.
